Why Pacific STEM

More than just help with homework.

Tutoring should do more than get a student through tonight's assignment. The goal is to build the understanding and problem-solving skills that make the next topic easier too.

01

Individualized instruction

Each lesson is built around the student's current course, knowledge gaps, upcoming assessments and academic goals.

02

Strong conceptual foundations

Students learn why a method works, not just which formula to use, so they can apply ideas confidently to unfamiliar problems.

03

Purposeful practice

Guided examples progress into independent practice, targeted review and exam-style questions matched to the student's level.

Subjects

Focused support for challenging STEM courses.

Tutoring is available for AP courses, high school mathematics and science, and selected undergraduate mathematics, physics and engineering courses.

Calculus & Mathematics

Build strong mathematical foundations and confidence with complex problem solving.

Chemistry

Develop a clear understanding of chemical concepts, calculations, and relationships.

Physics

Learn to break challenging physics problems into logical, manageable steps.

Biology

Strengthen understanding of biological systems, processes, and data interpretation.

University STEM

Support for selected undergraduate mathematics, physics and engineering courses, based on course content and individual needs.

About your tutor

Engineering training, applied to teaching.

I hold a Master of Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, specializing in Biomechanics and Medical Devices, as well as a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering from the University of Liverpool.

My engineering background has given me a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, analytical problem solving and technical communication. I bring that same structured approach to tutoring: breaking difficult ideas into manageable steps, building strong conceptual understanding, and giving students targeted practice until they can solve problems independently.

I have experience tutoring students across senior high school and AP-level courses, including one-on-one instruction and group teaching. I also offer support in selected undergraduate mathematics, physics and engineering courses that align with my engineering background.

How tutoring works

A clear process from first session to exam day.

Step 1

Assess

Identify the student's goals, current course content, strengths and gaps.

Step 2

Teach

Explain concepts clearly and connect them to the methods students need to use.

Step 3

Practise

Move from guided examples into targeted independent questions.

Step 4

Review

Revisit weak areas and prepare deliberately for quizzes, tests and final exams.

Get started

Tell me what your student needs help with.

Send a short inquiry with the student's grade or university program and year, course and goals. I can then recommend the best starting point and discuss availability.
